OUR VISION
Our vision
is to develop mature and responsible teen girls that reach their full potential
to become thriving women in society and active members in their
communities.
MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to provide creative one-to-one and group sessions from male and female mentors which broadens perspective, fosters maturity and increases accountability in girls to help them achieve their full potential and become active members of their communities by building academic and social competence.
T. L. Inspirations is a mentoring ministry consisting of faith-based men and women known as "Inspirers" who aid in preparing African-American teen girls for adulthood and the future. Our focus is to inspire trust with the mentees by imparting relevant truth and offering guidance in combating real life issues in a loving manner. Experience is the best teacher; therefore, it is our goal is to partner students with positive role models who have successfully overcome similar struggles teens face today. When one can identify with another person's pain, he/she is in a better position to create a comfort level with the other individual. In turn, the mentor is more equipped to build trust, self-esteem, character and confidence by providing concrete advice.
We will provide support to teen
girls to help them overcome negative behaviors, improve classroom participation
and academic success, and set goals for the future. The T. L. Inspirations team
addresses real life issues (such as, substance abuse, alcohol, tobacco, teen
pregnancy, delinquency, school drop-out, and violence) through one-on-one
mentoring and group sessions designed to uplift and empower young women. Our philosophy is that positive reinforcement
given over a substantial period of time counteracts the negative influences,
experiences and peer-pressure at-risk youth face in their environments.
